A Message from Your Member of Parliament
After gaining 2.4 million new votes and twenty-four new seats in the latest federal election, a larger and stronger Conservative caucus returned to fight for a Canada that is affordable, safe, self-reliant, and united.
Conservatives will always proudly support tax cuts that lighten the burden on Canadian workers, even if the Liberals’ tax cuts don’t go nearly far enough. We are willing to work with the government when it serves the best interests of our nation, and continue to stand against any wasteful spending that drives the cost of everything even higher.
Recently, senior Liberal Ministers failed to answer basic questions about their portfolios. The Public Safety Minister didn’t understand firearms regulations or acknowledge that the Liberals decriminalized dangerous hard drugs. The Immigration Minister couldn’t provide figures on asylum claims, refugee processing times, or the number of non-permanent residents in Canada.
And while housing becomes increasingly out of reach, the Housing Minister admitted the Liberals’ big new housing program doesn’t even exist yet.
Canadians expect competence and accountability. That’s why Conservatives led efforts to recover millions in wasted taxpayer dollars, demanded a federal budget, and fought to protect ethics and lobbying rules. We also opposed the costly and unrealistic EV mandate that would raise prices and limit choice for Canadians.
This summer, we have been working hard—and we will come back this fall ready to stand up for Canadian families, jobs, and our country’s future.
Sincerely,
Tim S. Uppal, M.P.
